Statist VS Libertarian

Felt the urge to respond to a friend's facebook post today and this is what ensued - a little debate of sorts. I see it more as a discussion really. Either way, the point of this post is not about the debate and who "won", because no consensus can ever be reached between three parties with such strong views. Obviously I have left out some of their responses, otherwise this post would drag all the way to the bottom and defeat the purpose of this entry. I simply felt the need to post up certain points that I brought up rather spontaneously for my own future reference.
